HAMMOND, La.  – The Southeastern Louisiana football, volleyball, soccer, cross country, golf and tennis teams will all be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The No. 23 Lion football team (1-0) will open its road schedule on Saturday, traveling to Ole Miss for a 3 p.m. contest in Oxford, Mississippi. The game will air on the SEC Network Alternate channel. It also can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM WFPR), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the Radio FX and TuneIn Radio apps.
 
The Southeastern volleyball team (2-5) will open its 2019 home schedule this week. The Lady Lions welcome Southland Conference foe Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to open the week's action on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the University Center. The Islanders will stay in town to compete in the SLU Lion Up Classic that runs Friday and Saturday in the UC and also includes California Baptist and Jackson State.
 
Friday's slate will see Cal Baptist and JSU face off at 11 a.m., AMCC and JSU meet at 3 p.m. with SLU hosting CBU at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and California Baptist open at 11 a.m. and Jackson State and the Lady Lions face off in the 2 p.m. tournament finale.
 
The Southeastern Sports Network will offer a free video stream of this week's volleyball matches. Tune in online at www.LionSports.net or the Lions' Gameday Experience app for Android or iOS devices. Fans can also watch on Southeastern's YouTube channel (/SLUathletics) with any mobile, tablet or smart TV device (e.g., Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Android TV and Roku).
 
After playing four of its first five matches at home, the SLU soccer team (1-3-1) will hit the road for its next three, starting this week. On Thursday, Southeastern travels to Memphis for a 7 p.m. match. UALR hosts the Lady Lions on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
The Southeastern men's and women's cross country teams will compete in their second meet of the season this week. On Friday, the Lions and Lady Lions will compete in the Rice Invitational. The women's race is set for 6:15 p.m., followed by the men's race at 6:45 p.m.
 
The Southeastern golf team will open the 2019-20 season this week. The Lions will be in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Sam Hall Intercollegiate.
 
Also opening the fall portion of its 2019-20 schedule this week is the SLU tennis team. The Lions open up competition on Friday and Saturday at the NSU Invitational in Natchitoches.
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Football With Frank Scelfo is set for Monday at 7 p.m. at Tope La Catering in downtown Hammond. Wide receivers coach Micheal Spurlock and a representative from Child Advocacy Services are the special guests for Monday's show.
 
Hosted by Scelfo, the Lions' second-year head coach, and Allen Waddell, the hour-long show airs weekly from Tope La Catering, located at 113 East Thomas Street every Monday at 7 p.m. through Nov. 18.
 
The show will air on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM WFPR).
