HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana football, volleyball and soccer teams will compete in Southland Conference play this week, while cross country, tennis and softball are also in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The Lion football team (2-1, 1-0 Southland) will open up the road portion of its Southland Conference schedule in Natchitoches, facing league foe Northwestern State at 6 p.m. The game will air on Cox Sports Television and ESPN+ (outside of the CST viewing area). It also can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM WFPR), online at

The SLU volleyball team (5-9, 0-1 Southland) will host a pair of Southland Conference opponents this week in the University Center. On Thursday, the Lady Lions welcome McNeese for a 7 p.m. league match. Southeastern Athletics and the Pennington Center will partner up to give out spirit items to the first 100 students in attendance.
Students will also have an opportunity to sign up for intramural volleyball at Thursday's match. On Saturday, Lamar visits for a 1 p.m. match.
The Lady Lion soccer team (1-6-1, 0-1 Southland) also hosts a pair of league foes this week. On Friday, UIW comes to Hammond for a 7 p.m. match. Friday is National Scarf Day and the first 200 fans will receive a SLU Soccer scarf.
Southeastern and ACU square off on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium. Little Lion fans are encouraged to participate in Sunday's Youth Day activities in conjunction with the match.

The SLU men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action this week. On Friday, the Lions and Lady Lions will compete in the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge. The women's race is set for 5 p.m. with the men's race following at 5:45 p.m.
The Southeastern tennis team will participate in its second competition of the fall this week. The Lions will be in Playa del Carmen, Mexico from Tuesday through Sunday to compete in the Iberostar College Cup.
The Lady Lion softball team hits the road for a pair of fall exhibitions this week. On Friday, SLU will face UL Lafayette at 6 p.m., before heading to LSU Eunice for a noon contest on Saturday. Both games are scheduled for 10 innings.
