Adeyemi-Berglund Tabbed Louisiana Defensive Player of the Week

Senior finished with 10 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 2 sacks, 3 FF, 1 FR and 1 PBU at Ole Miss

HAMMOND, La.  – After being all over the field in Southeastern Louisiana's near upset at Ole Miss, Lion senior defensive end Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The weekly honor was the first this season for a Lion and the second of Adeyemi-Berglund's career. The Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada native was named Defensive Player of the Week by both the Southland and LSWA last November after his performance in the Lions' 23-6 win over McNeese.

On Saturday, Adeyemi-Berglund was dominant in SLU's 40-29 loss to the Rebels. He finished with 10 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup in Oxford.

He forced and recovered a fumble in the first quarter that led to the Lions' first points. His strip sack in the third quarter was recovered inside the 10-yard line by teammate Feletoa Ailua and set up a touchdown pass from Chason Virgil to Bransen Schwebel that cut the lead to 34-29 heading into the final quarter.
