HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's soccer team will wrap up their season-opening three-game home stand Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. when they host Jackson State.
 
The Lady Lions (0-1-1) opened the season last weekend with a pair of home matches against Louisiana Tech and ULM. SLU dropped a tough one to LTU 1-0 before tying the Warhawks 1-1.
 
SLU showed significant improvements in the second half against ULM as they outshot the Warhawks 10-2 in the final 55 minutes of Sunday's match. Freshman Mya Guillory scored in the 69^th minute to secure the tie for the Lady Lions.
 
JSU (0-2) dropped both matches at home last week to Delta State and Mississippi University for Women. The Lady Tigers have also struggled on the road recently, losing 17 of their last 18 matches dating back to the season opener of 2017 against SLU. 
 
Southeastern has dominated the all-time series against Jackson State winning all eight matches. SLU defeated the Lady Tigers two years ago in Hammond 3-0 thanks to goals from former Lady Lions Maddie Kresevic and Christina Cutura.
 
Following Friday's match, the Lady Lions will have six days off before hitting the road to face the 11^th-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols (2-0) Thursday, Sept. 5 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
