HAMMOND, La. – Numerous promotions are planned for Southeastern Louisiana's Tuesday game at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. First pitch against South Alabama (25-22) is slated for 6 p.m.
Facing their final nonconference competition of the regular season, the Lions (27-21) are hosting a Study Break for Southeastern students. The first 200 students through the gates will receive some free goodies to ease the pain that is finals week.
The game is also a Cane's Challenge contest. If Southeastern scores five or more runs Tuesday versus the Jaguars, fans can redeem their game ticket or student coupon at their local participating Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers to receive a free combo with the purchase of another of equal or greater value.
Tuesday is National Teacher Appreciation Day and the Lions are offering their appreciation in the form of free tickets. Teachers presenting a valid teaching ID at the box/ticket office will receive two free tickets to the game.
Every Tuesday home game is also Lil' Lions Night with all general admission tickets for fans ages 3-12 cost just $3. Children younger than 3 years old are always admitted free of charge.

Southeastern picked up three wins in four games this past week, defeating McNeese in a nonconference game Wednesday at home and then claiming a pair of games in a conference series at Lamar.
The Lions are hitting .253 collectively, with 68 doubles, 14 triples, 34 home runs and 77 stolen bases. Southeastern's pitching staff has worked to a combined 4.37 ERA, striking out 405 batters in 426 innings. Opponents are hitting .256 off Lion pitching.

Nathan Pilutti (.282) key Southeastern's approach at the plate. Faulkner leads the Southland Conference in doubles (16) and is tied with Schimpf for the team lead in home runs (7). Schimpf's 42 RBIs rank fourth in the Southland Conference. Grosse is second in the conference with 23 stolen bases.
Trey Shaffer (1-2, 6.07), a sophomore left-hander from Biloxi, Mississippi, draws the starting nod for the Lions on the mound, opposing South Alabama junior southpaw Caleb Yarborough (2-5, 5.40).
Ethan Wilson (.343), Michael Sandle (.326) and Kaleb DeLaTorre (.306) are the Jaguars' top hitters. Wilson also leads the team in home runs (15) and RBIs (45). Sandle paces the squad with seven stolen bases.
South Alabama is hitting .260 as a team, with 73 doubles, 14 triples, 45 home runs and 26 steals. The Jaguar pitching staff has worked to a combined 4.73 ERA, striking out 382 batters in 403 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting .257 off South Alabama pitching.
Southeastern defeated the Jaguars, 1-0, March 26 at Stanky Field in Mobile, Alabama. The victory was part of a season-best eight-game winning streak.
The Lions (16-8 Southland) return to Southland Conference action Friday, hosting Sam Houston State (16-8 Southland) in the opener of a three-game series. Southeastern and the Bearkats enter the weekend tied atop the conference standings with two Southland series remaining.
