HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will look to get back on track on Wednesday, when it hosts Southland Conference foe Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 7 p.m. in the University Center.

General admission tickets for the contest between the Lady Lions (8-12, 3-6 Southland) and the visiting Islanders (11-8, 5-3 Southland) will be priced at $4 for women in honor of National Women in Sports Day. The first 150 fans will receive a trading card featuring Charliee Dugas, Wednesday's Spotlight Player of the Game, courtesy of PRIDE.

Wednesday is also a Cane's Challenge game. If the Lady Lions score 50 or more points versus the Islanders, fans can redeem their game ticket of student coupon at their local participating Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers to receive a free combo with the purchase of another of equal or greater value.

Southeastern will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak on Wednesday. On Saturday, the Lady Lions held a 12-point second-half lead over Nicholls, but the Colonels held SLU to three field goals over the final 15 minutes to rally for a 73-66 overtime victory.

Southeastern shot over 50 percent from the floor over the first three quarters before hitting the skids in the final quarter and overtime. Dugas and Morgan Carrier each scored 15 points to share team-high honors for SLU, while Celica Sterling added 10 points. Tyler Morrison dished out six assists and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Lions.

Sterling's 15.8 points per game paces SLU and ranks third in the league in both scoring and three-point field goals made, but the Lady Lions are averaging just 57.3 points per contest. Morrison's 3.6 assists per game are sixth in the Southland, while Jaclyn Scholvin (3.3 apg, 9th) joins her teammate among the league's assist leaders.

The Lady Lion offense will be facing one of the Southland's top defenses, as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi allows 59.7 points per game and forces 21.2 turnovers per contest. Alexes Bryant leads the Southland with 36 blocked shots, while DaeDae Evans has a team-high 38 steals.

Bryant leads the Islanders with 6.4 rebounds per contest, as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi comes to Hammond with a plus-3.1 rebounding margin. Southeastern's top rebounder is Caitlyn Williams, who is sixth in the Southland with 7.0 rebounds per outing.

Southeastern is allowing 64.9 points and forcing 18.1 turnovers per contest heading into Wednesday's contest. The Lady Lions will be tested by a balanced Islander attack that is averaging 65.9 points per game.

Dalesia Booth (13.8 ppg) leads Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in scoring, followed by Bryant (10.7 ppg), Evans (9.1 ppg) and Emma Young (8.8 ppg). Young also averages a team-high 3.0 assists per outing.

Southeastern will be looking to buck the recent trend in the all-time series with the Islanders. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is 10-5 all-time versus SLU and has won the last six meetings between the two schools. Last year in Corpus Christi, the Islanders edged the Lady Lions, 56-52.

Following Wednesday's contest, Southeastern will play the next two games on the road. SLU will be in Conway, Arkansas for a 2 p.m. contest at Central Arkansas on Saturday. Saturday's game will be heard live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the Lions Game Day Experience, RadioFX and TuneIn Radio apps.
