HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will close out its 2019-20 preseason preparations with a tune-up exhibition versus Southern (N.O.) at 7 p.m. on Monday in the University Center.
The Southeastern Sports Network will offer a free video stream of the exhibition contest. Tune in online at

A pair of freshmen –
Hailey Giaratano and
Jaylen Huderson – will be Monday's Spotlight Players of the Game. The first 150 fans will receive trading cards featuring Giaratano, a Ponchatoula native, and Huderson, who hails from Slidell, who are both making their collegiate debuts on Monday.
For the month of November, Southeastern Athletics and LA Child Welfare Training Academy are collecting unwrapped toys for children in foster care at home men's and women's basketball games. Fans who drop off toys will receive a voucher for a discounted ticket. The types of toys needed include dolls, puzzles, gift cards, sports equipment, bikes, skateboards, books, headphones, board games, video games and arts and crafts.
All-Southland Conference and All-Louisiana guard
Celica Sterling (13.8 ppg in 2018-19) is one of four returning starters, along with
Charliee Dugas (10.6 ppg),
Caitlyn Williams (7.6 ppg, 6.6 rpg) and
Tyler Morrison (3.5 apg).
Morgan Carrier,
Aminat Jubril and
Sydney Rivers also return, as does
Jyar Francis, who missed all of last season with an injury.
The Lady Lions bring in junior college guard
Breonca Ducksworth, as well as a quintet of freshmen in
Jaylen Huderson,
Daija Harvey,
Alexius Horne,
Bren'naisa Adams and
Hailey Giaratano.
SUNO opened the season with a 84-65 loss to LSU-Shreveport last week. Victoria Educhi led the Lady Knights with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double effort in the loss.
Southeastern is 4-0 all-time versus the visitors. SUNO and SLU last met in the 1984-85 season.
