Edo Earns All-Conference Honors

11/20/2019 4:16:00 PM

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana middle blocker Jodi Edo earned first-team All-Conference honors for her standout performance in 2019, the Southland Conference announced Wednesday.

A senior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Edo led the Southland with 37 solo blocks, the most by a conference player in nearly a decade. The total also ranks 10th in school single-season history. She ranked second in the Southland with a .336 attack percentage, setting a program single-season record.

Edo ranked fourth in the Southland in total blocks (112), fifth in total points (396.5), and seventh in both points per set (3.6) and total kills (321).

She is the first Lady Lion to earn All-Conference honors since Morgan Todd in 2014 and the first first-teamer since Courtney Donald in 2012.

All individual superlative winners and all-conference honorees will be recognized before first-round matchups at the 2019 Southland Conference Volleyball Tournament in Conway, Arkansas.

UP NEXT
Southeastern's season continues Friday at 11 a.m. in the first round of the Southland Conference Volleyball Tournament. The No. 7-seeded Lady Lions face a rematch with Sam Houston State, the No. 2 seed. The single-elimination event runs Friday through Sunday on the campus of Southland member Central Arkansas. For more information on the tournament, visit www.LionSports.net/SLCvb.

The Lady Lions, who return to the postseason tournament for the first time in three seasons, wrapped up the regular season with the third-largest year-to-year improvement in the nation. Southeastern's 12-win improvement over 2018 trails only Milwaukee (17), Central Michigan (14) and Robert Morris (14).
