LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana track team had six first place finishes and 18 personal bests Friday at the McNeese Invitational Indoor meet.

The women also had second place finishes from Mumford (55m),

Lindsey Hutcheson finished third in the 600m.
The men had second place finishes from
Jaysen Robinson (55m),

Gerald Coleman,
Devin Dixon and
Garrett Cook.
Grant O'Callaghan (3000m) and
Zach Barthel (one-mile) each had third place finishes.
"This was one of the best opening meets we've ever had," said second-year SLU track head coach
Corey Mistretta. "With 18 personal best on the day the kids are confident that the training is working and are excited to get back at it on Monday. Going into the meet I was excited about the female sprint group and they didn't disappoint. These ladies are going to be fun to work with this year. I'm probably most excited about
Kia Coleman. Kia spent the entire year in 2018 struggling with leg injuries and didn't get to compete. So, this was her first collegiate meet and first time jumping in almost two years and she responding by improving her personal best in the triple jump by over two feet. The future is bright for her. And our distance group continues to make huge improvements and I'm excited about where they will be, come conference championship time. If this group continues to stay committed to the program and their training, good things are going to happen."
Southeastern will be back in action Friday, Feb. 1 at the Bayou Bengal Invitational in Baton Rouge, Louisiana hosted by LSU.
