HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana head track coach
Corey Mistretta announced the hiring of Matt Tholis Monday afternoon as assistant coach.
Tholis's hire is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System's Board of Supervisors.
Tholis, a 2012 All-American javelin-thrower at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, joins the Lions staff as a field coach with high school and collegiate coaching experience.
The Belle Mead, New Jersey native coached as a volunteer assistant from 2013-15 at East Stroudsburg before returning to his high school alma mater, Montgomery High School (Skillman, Pennsylvania) in 2016.
In 2016-17, Tholis was the strength and condition and assistant track coach at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania before joining the LSU track and field staff as a volunteer assistant in August of 2017.
