HAMMOND, La. –   The Southeastern Louisiana Track and Field Program notched 11 spots on the 2018 LSWA All-Louisiana Track Team released Tuesday morning by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA).

SLU's Grant O'Callaghan (1500 meters), Devin King (pole vault), Brian Donna (decathlon) and Rodney Ruffin (long jump) posted the best times in the state in their respective events for the men.

Rounding out the men's selections were Cliff Resais (100 meters) Adrian Williams (javelin) and Gerald Coleman (400 meter hurdles); each finishing third.
O'Callaghan, a sophomore from Flower Branch, Georgia, ran a 3:47.81 in the 1500 meters May 4 at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championship in San Antonio, Texas to claim the top spot in Louisiana.

King, a four-time All-Louisiana selection, claimed the top spot in the pole vault with a jump of 19 feet, 0.25 inches (5.80 meters) at the Home Depot Clyde Littlefield Relays in Austin, Texas March 31. The senior from Kentwood, Louisiana also qualified for the National Championships in Oregon.
Donna, a junior from Boston, Massachusetts, won the decathlon at The Sketcher's Performance Cark Kight Invitational in Nacogdoches, Texas Apr.5-7. He compiled a score of 7030 points.

Ruffin jumped his way to the top March 23 in Hammond at the SELU Lions SU Jaguars Dual when he exploded to a 26 feet, 7 inches (8.10m) long jump.
For the women, Ashley Davis (shot put), Alexia Stein (discuss) and Vigdis Jonsdottir (hammer throw) claimed the top spot. Charlotte Wissing (javelin) was third while Stein had a second place finish in the shot put.

Davis, a Watson, Louisiana native, inked the best shot put mark at the LSU Alumni Gold Meet April 21 at Bernie Moore Track. The sophomore launched a throw of a 55-8.25 (16.97m), six feet further than the second place finisher at the event.
Stein, who was named Southland Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week March 13, threw the discus 163-11 (49.97m) May 12 at McNeese. The junior from Baldwin, Kansas won the meet by over four feet.

Jonsdottir, a sophomore from Reykjavik, Iceland, claimed the hammer throw top spot with a jaw-dropping 196-5 (59.88m) in Hammond March 23. She won the event by six meters and notched the best time in Louisiana by four meters.

LSU and Northwestern State had a lot of success as well.

LSU had six winners – Track Athlete of the Year: (Men) Jaron Flournoy and Aleia Hobbs (Women); Field Athlete of the Year: (Men) Jake Norris; Freshman of the Year (Men) Damion Thomas; Newcomer of the Year: (Women) Ersula Farrow; and Co-Women's Coach of the Year: Dennis Shaver.

Northwestern State followed with two selections – Newcomer of the Year (Men) Kie'Ave Harry; and, Men's Coach of the Year Mike Heimerman.
