HAMMOND, La. – With a promotions-filled series planned, Southeastern Louisiana hosts Stephen F. Austin in Southland Conference action this weekend at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
Games between Southeastern (27-17, 14-7 Southland) and the Lumberjacks (14-26, 6-12 Southland) are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
Saturday the Lions celebrate National Super Hero Day by offering a discounted ticket to all fans who show up at the ballpark dressed as their favorite super hero (super powers not required).
Sunday is Senior Day. Prior to the 1 p.m. first pitch, Lion seniors

The series finale is also the final Local Hero Appreciation Day of the season. Every Sunday home game throughout the 2018 season, the Lions have given thanks to our first responders, service members and military personnel with a discounted ticket available at the ticket booth (must have a valid service ID).

Green (5-3, 3.32), the senior right-hander, opposes Lumberjack freshman left-hander Dru Dziedzic (1-2, 4.87) in the series opener Friday at 6 p.m.
Saturday at 2 p.m., the Lions will send redshirt junior right-hander
Carlisle Koestler (7-1, 2.31), who leads the Southland in wins, to the mound opposite SFA freshman righty Sean Beasley (2-3, 6.88).
Sunday at 1 p.m. Southeastern will counter Lumberjack senior right-hander Trevor Kiminski (2-4, 5.40) in the series finale with junior right-hander
Corey Gaconi (3-1, 4.62).
Cody Grosse (.318) and Avans (.316) pace Southeastern's offensive attack. Avans leads the Southland with eight home runs and his 18 stolen bases rank second.
Kyle Schimpf's 36 RBI rank fourth in the Southland. Grosse leads the conference with 40 runs scored.
The Lions are hitting .245 collectively, with 57 doubles, 13 triples and 27 home runs. Their 105 stolen bases rank third nationally. Southeastern's pitching staff, which has compiled a 3.65 ERA, has struck out 351 batters through 394.1 innings of work and issued the fourth-fewest walks per nine (2.60) in the nation. Opponents are hitting .248 off Lion pitching.
Southeastern swept a doubleheader from Nicholls the last time out, taking the series. The Lumberjacks have dropped four of their last five.
Eric DeJesus (.307) and Jared Martin (.303) are SFA's top hitters. Josh Evans' seven home runs and Martin's 29 RBI are tops on the club, while Nick Daley leads the Southland with 21 stolen bases.
The Lumberjacks are hitting .267 as a team, with 74 doubles, four triples, 28 home runs and 44 stolen bases. SFA pitchers have combined for a 6.57 ERA and 288 strikeouts in 356 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting .289 off Lumberjack pitching.
Southeastern embarks on a six-game road trip to begin the month of May, opening a Southland series May 4 at 6:30 p.m. at conference-leading Sam Houston State.

General Admission tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for children (ages 3-12). Tax is included in the price of admission. Southeastern students are admitted free with a valid university ID card.
