HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana senior
Devin King smashed the Southeastern Track Complex pole vault record at the outdoor season-opening Tulane Early Bird Twilight Friday afternoon.
King cleared a regional qualifying height of 18 feet, 8.25 inches, breaking his own record of 17-10.5 set at the 2016 Lion Invitational. He also tied his school record established at the 2016 Texas Relays. He missed on three attempts at 19-0.25.
King's victory was one of eight captured by the Lions and Lady Lions in the meet, which was moved to the Complex because of a scheduling conflict at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans.
