BEAUMONT, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana continues its six-game road trip this weekend, traveling to Lamar for a Southland Conference series. Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Vincent-Beck Stadium.

Carlisle Koestler (3-0, 1.13) gets the starting nod Saturday at 2 p.m. versus Cardinal junior left-hander Noah Sills (2-1, 0.74).

The Lions (13-6, 2-1 Southland) are coming off an 11-5 comeback win over No. 19-ranked Mississippi State at MGM Park in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Mike Taylor (.339) and
Drew Avans (.328) pace Southeastern's offensive attack.
Bryce Steckler, a junior from Redmond, Washington ranks fifth nationally with three triples. Avans has smashed a team-high three home runs and ranks ninth nationally with 10 stolen bases.
Kyle Schimpf, a junior from Covington, Louisiana, is tied for the Southland lead with 18 RBI.
As a team, the Lions are hitting .268, with 31 doubles, six triples and 12 home runs. Their 55 stolen bases are the second most in the nation, trailing leader UCF by a pair. Southeastern's pitching staff has compiled a 3.68 ERA, fanning 154 batters through 171 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .243 off Lion pitching.
Lamar (4-13, 0-3 Southland) has dropped four straight, including its conference opening-series at home to No. 21-ranked Sam Houston State.
Philip Ingram (.345), Robin Adames (.288) and Cole Coker (.274) are Lamar's top hitters. Chase Whetsel and Cole Secrest have each hit a pair of home runs, and Secrest also leads the team with 12 RBI. Adames, Coker and Cole Girouard have each swiped a pair of bases.
The Cardinals are hitting .218 as a team, with 12 doubles, five home runs and seven stolen bases. Lamar pitching has combined for a 3.12 ERA, striking out 136 batters in 150 innings. Opponents are hitting .264 off Cardinal pitching.
Southeastern continues its 6-game road trip Tuesday at South Alabama.
