Lions to Wrap Season Series at Tulane

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Southeastern Louisiana wraps up its two-game season series with Tulane at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
 
The Lions (28-15), who defeated Tulane (22-23), 8-5, on February 21 in Hammond, Louisiana, have won three straight against the Green Wave.
 
Southeastern will send senior right-hander Derrick Mount (1-1, 5.68) to the mound opposite Green Wave sophomore left-hander Ross Massey (0-6, 6.82).

Southeastern is riding a five-game winning streak, coming off a series sweep at Southland Conference foe Stephen F. Austin this past weekend.
 
Taylor Schwaner (.359), Carson Crites (.302), Mount (.287) and Drew Avans (.281) lead Southeastern at the plate. Schwaner is the Southland leader with 13 home runs and ranks third nationally with 61 RBIs. Mount is third nationally with eight sacrifice flies. Avans owns a team-high 20 stolen bases.
 
The Lions are hitting .249 as a team, with 71 doubles, 17 triples, 41 home runs and 83 stolen bases. Southeastern's pitching staff enters the game with a 3.80 ERA, having fanned 307 batters through 381.1 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .245 off Lion pitching.

Tulane dropped 2-of-3 games in an American Athletic Conference series at East Carolina this past weekend.
 
Hunter Williams (.349), Grant Witherspoon (.308) and Lex Kaplan (.301) lead the Green Wave offensive attack. Williams and Jarret DeHart are tied with a team-high nine home runs. DeHart has also driven in a team-leading 38 runs. Witherspoon has swiped a team-high nine bases.
 
The Green Wave are hitting .268 as a team, with 85 doubles, seven triples, 49 home runs and 38 stolen bases. Tulane's pitching staff has compiled a 5.34 ERA this season, striking out 252 batters in 396 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting .276 off Green Wave pitchers.
 
Southeastern begins a six-game homestand Friday, hosting Sam Houston State in a three-game series that features the second and fourth place teams in the Southland Conference.
 
General Admission tickets for Lion home games are $9 for adults and $6 for children (ages 3-12). Tax is included in the price of admission. Southeastern students are admitted free with a valid university ID card.

Students and campus organizations can earn points toward their Lion Up Loyalty account at any home game by checking in on the mobile app while in attendance.
