LOGAN, Utah – Playing in its second tournament in as many weeks, the Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team faces matches against Portland State, UC Riverside and host Utah State over the next couple days in the USU Tournament presented by Gossner Foods.
Southeastern (1-5) matches up with Portland State (4-2) Thursday at 11 a.m. and UC Riverside (3-3) later that day at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Lions play their final match of the tournament against the host Aggies (2-4) Friday at 2 p.m. All times listed are Central.

The Lady Lions feature a balanced offensive attack. Leading the way are
Elyssa Purcell (2.17 k.set), a redshirt freshman from Alvin, Texas,
Parrie Hartley (1.95 k/set), a senior from Columbus, Texas,
Chloee Holden (1.88 k/set), a freshman from Alvin, Savannah Aalcazar (1.78 k/set), a freshman from League City, Texas, and
Madi Odom (1.77 k/set), a senior from Kingwood, Texas.
Haley Baker (5.00 assists per set), a sophomore from Elkton, Maryland, handles the bulk of the setting duties, while splitting time with Purcell (4.08 a/set).
Rachael Bunn (0.55 blocks per set), a senior from San Juan Capistrano, California, and
Jodi Edo (0.43 b/set), a freshman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, are Southeastern's top blocking threats.
Libero
Monica Ramon (3.80 digs per set), a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, and Odom (3.18 d/set) are the mainstays on the back row.
Southeastern dropped all three of its matches in the Jaguar Invitational this past weekend at South Alabama.
Portland State won its final two matches in the Bulldog Showdown this past weekend at Fresno State.
Patti Anae (5.04 k/set), Jenna Mullen (3.00 k/set), Caitlin Bettenay (2.71 k/set) and Eva Linden (2.57 k/set) lead a high-powered Viking offensive attack. Erin Clark (10.29 a/set) and Kylie Copple (7.06 a/set) have split setting duties this season.
Mikaelyn Sych (0.77 b/set) and Katy Wilson (0.69 b/set) are Portland State's top threats at the net, while Tasha Bojanic (3.54 d/set), Clark (2.29 d/set) and Anae (2.23 d/set) are its top defenders along the back row.
UC Riverside dropped two of its three matches this past weekend in the St. Mary's (Calif.) Tournament.
Fabiana Rosas (5.70 k/set) and Mickayla Sherman (3.22 k/set) power the Highlanders' offensive efforts with a helping hand from Chelsea Doyle (9.30 a/set).
Yuliya Ushakova (0.95 b/set), Meg Graham (0.74 b/set) and Brooke Callahan (0.68 b/set) form a formidable front, while Maddie Hubbell (4.39 d/set) and Rosas (3.50 d/set) anchor the back row for UC Riverside.
Host Utah State won two of its three matches this past weekend at the Pioneer Invitational in Denver, Colorado.
Lauren Anderson (3.71 k/set), Kaylie Kamalu-Smith (3.38 k/set) and Kayla DeCoursey (2.68 k/set) lead the Aggie attack, while Erica Moscoso (10.27 a/set) and Kassidy Johnson (8.75 a/set) have split setting duties.
Carly Lenzen (0.81 b/set) and Lauren O'Brien (0.67 b/set) are Utah State's top blocking threats. Hanna Gleason (4.33 d/set) is its top defender on the back row.
Following the USU Tournament, Southeastern next takes to the court Sept. 16 at Purdue in the Stacey Clark Classic where the Lady Lions will face a pair of ranked opponents. Southeastern will finally return to the University Center Sept. 22 when they open Southland Conference play against Lamar.
