MOBILE, Ala. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team faces matches against Florida A&M, Florida International and host South Alabama over the next couple days in the Jaguar Invitational.
Southeastern (1-2) matches up with the Jaguars (2-1) Friday at 1 p.m. and Florida A&M (0-3) later that day at 4 p.m. The Lady Lions play their final match of the tournament against FIU (1-2) Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Four Lady Lions are averaging at least a pair of kills per set, including
Parrie Hartley (2.27 k/set), a senior from Columbus, Texas,
Elyssa Purcell (2.20 k.set), a redshirt freshman from Alvin, Texas, Savannah Aalcazar (2.18 k/set), a freshman from League City, Texas, and
Madi Odom (2.00 k/set).
Haley Baker (6.73 assists per set), a sophomore from Elkton, Maryland, handles the bulk of the setting duties and ranks sixth in the Southland Conference, while splitting time with Purcell (3.80 a/set).
Odom, a senior from Kingwood, Texas, leads the Southland in service aces (0.75 per set), while a trio of freshmen,
Jodi Edo (0.75 blocks per set), a middle blocker from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Purcell (0.50 b/set) and Alcazar (0.45 b/set), are Southeastern's top blocking threats.
Odom (4.63 digs per set) joins libero
Monica Ramon (4.45 d/set), a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, among the top five in the conference.
South Alabama picked up wins against Indiana State and Nicholls at the Marriott Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, this past weekend, falling in its final match of the tournament to host Samford.
Mechell Daniel (2.91 k/set) and Iva Durdanovic (2.10 k/set) are the Jaguars' top attackers. Kellyn Reeves (5.64 a/set) and Ashlyn Roberts (4.55 a/set) split setting duties.
Sarah Richardson (1.00 b/set) is South Alabama's top blocker, while Abby Baker (3.36 d/set), Durdanovic (2.60 d/set) and Arissa Chappell (2.18 d/set) anchor the back row.
Florida A&M dropped all three matches it played at the FIU Invite this past weekend in Miami, Florida, including one to fellow Jaguar Invitational participant FIU.
Nicole Abreu (3.10 k/set) and Maria Yvette Garcia (2.90 k/set) are the Rattlers' top attackers. Elena Dimitrova (6.70 a/set) handles the bulk of the setting duties. Valentina Carrasco (3.40 d/set) and Starmichael Tucker (2.60 d/set) anchor the back row.
FIU dropped the first two matches of its own tournament this past weekend to Coastal Carolina and Miami, before topping the Rattlers.
Mariana Dal Pozzo (3.75 k/set) and Katie Hogan (1.90 k/set) are the Panthers' top attackers. Mariana De Paula Silva (4.86 a/set) and Sophia Sires (3.17 a/set) split setting duties.
Jennifer Ene (1.10 b/set) is FIU's top blocker, while Lina Bernier (2.40 d/set), Dal Pozzo (2.25 d/set), Maria McLamb (2.25 d/set) and Hogan (2.20 d/set) spend significant time on the back row.
Following the Jaguar Invitational, Southeastern next takes to the court Sept. 8 at Utah State in the USU Tournament presented by Gossner Foods. The Lady Lions will not return to the University Center until Sept. 22 when they open Southland Conference play against Lamar.
