HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana, which faces Southern Miss in a pair of midweek contests, hosts the Golden Eagles at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field for Pack the Pat, Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Lions (6-5) will return the game, traveling to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, for a 6 p.m. matchup Wednesday at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.

The first 300 Southeastern students in attendance Tuesday against Southern Miss (10-2) will receive a free t-shirt and free food courtesy of Southeastern Athletics Student Marketing and Promotions. Students and campus organizations can also earn points toward their new Lion Up Loyalty account at any home game just by checking-in on the mobile app while in attendance.

Southeastern is coming off a dramatic, 6-5 win over Tennessee this past Sunday to close out its participation at the Keith LeClair Classic in Greenville, North Carolina.

The Lions have seven players hitting .300 or better, including Carson Crites (.409), Jameson Fisher (.405), Brennan Breaud (.345), Jacob Seward (.342), Taylor Schwaner (.333), Ryan Byers (.314) and Webb Bobo (.300). Southeastern is hitting .284 as a team with 14 doubles, five home runs and 15 stolen bases.

Southeastern's pitching staff, which enters the week ranked fifth in the nation with an average of 10.6 strikeouts per nine innings, has compiled a 2.45 ERA, fanning 117 batters through 99.1 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .213 off Lion pitching.

Senior right-hander Pat Cashman (2-0, 5.59) draws the Tuesday nod for the Lions. He will be opposed by fellow righty Nick Johnson (0-0, 0.00) for the Golden Eagles.

Sophomore right-hander Josh Green (0-0, 0.00) earns the first start of his career Wednesday at Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles have not announced a starting pitcher for the game at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.

The Southern Miss pitching staff has compiled a 3.28 ERA, fanning 107 batters through 107 innings of work.

The Golden Eagles also have seven players hitting .300 or better this season. They are hitting .310 as a team with 14 doubles, 17 home runs and 10 stolen bases. Tracy Hadley (.417), Tim Lynch (.404) and Jake Sandlin (.350) lead the way offensively. Taylor Bradley tops the club with five home runs and 13 RBIs.

Southern Miss snapped a 2-game losing streak by sweeping through the Cox Diamond Invite, defeating Michigan State, Troy and Auburn in Pensacola, Florida, this past weekend.

The two teams are facing each other for the first time since April 30, 2008, when Southern Miss defeated the Lions, 12-4, at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series, 34-21.

Southeastern opens Southland Conference play Friday, hosting Incarnate Word in a 3-game series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Game times are Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
