HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana powered past Alcorn State Wednesday, 15-3, in a non-conference game at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
The Lions (3-1) knocked four doubles and
Jameson Fisher, a junior from Zachary, Louisiana, crushed a 2-run home run to right-center field. Seven Southeastern pitchers combined to strike out 15 batters.
Down 3-0 in the first, Southeastern rallied for four runs to gain the lead.
Alcorn (1-4) starting pitcher Daniel Corona (0-1) hit Lion leadoff hitter
Brennan Breaud with a pitch to open the inning. After Breaud stole second base, he moved to third on third baseman Derrik Mount's infield ground out.
Breaud scored on Fisher's first hit of the night, a single to center field. Following a single by designated hitter
Daniel Midyett and a walk to center fielder
Ryan Byers, right fielder
Webb Bobo ripped a 2-run single to center. Byers later scored on a wild pitch.
The Lions added three more runs in the second, the first two coming on Fisher's second home run of the season.
Southeastern sent 11 batters to the plate, scoring seven runs (six unearned), in the fifth. For good measure, the Lions added another unearned run in the seventh to complete the scoring.
Bobo, Fisher and Midyett led the way offensively for Southeastern.
A junior from Prattville, Alabama, Bobo went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and five RBIs. Fisher was 4-for-5 with a double, home run, four RBIs and three runs scored. Midyett, a senior from Shreveport, Louisiana, was 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored.
Starter
Pat Cashman (1-0) picked up the win for Southeastern, striking five batters in his 3-inning stint.
Gabe Von Rosenberg, a redshirt junior from Zachary, Louisiana, also fanned five batters in two scoreless innings of work.
Cliff Hurst,

Payton Robinson,
Drew Avans and Mount all turned in scoreless work out of the Lion bullpen.
