HAMMOND, La. – After garnering national attention for its weekend performance Southeastern Louisiana returns to action Wednesday at 6 p.m., hosting Alcorn State at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

Southeastern (2-1) won its season-opening series against in-state foe ULM, including a 2-0 victory on opening night.

Leading the way for the Lions in the series were Jameson Fisher (.600), Taylor Schwaner (.500), Sam Roberson (.400), Julian Service (.333) and Ryan Byers (.333).

The Lions are hitting .296 as a team with a pair of home runs and stolen bases. Southeastern's pitching staff has compiled a 1.28 ERA (14th nationally) and fanned 33 batters in 28 innings of work.

Pat Cashman is slated to start on the mound for Southeastern. Last season the senior from Plainfield, Illinois, compiled a 3-5 record and 3.33 ERA. He fanned 35 batters in 48.2 innings of work.

Alcorn (0-4), which dropped its home opener by a 17-4 score Monday to Southeast Missouri State, has not announced a starting pitcher. Collin Carroll (.462) and Wallace Rios (.400) are the Braves top-hitting everyday players.

Southeastern continues its 8-game homestand this coming weekend, hosting Troy Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
