CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team faces off against Southland Conference-leading Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the American Bank Center.
Southeastern (3-15, 1-4 Southland) returns to the court after an 8-day layoff to face an Islander (15-3, 6-0 Southland) squad that has won its last eight games.

The Lions are coming off a 98-70 win over Lamar, their first conference victory of the season, back on Jan. 16 at the University Center in Hammond, Louisiana.Southeastern, which shot a season-high 58.3 percent from the floor, was led by
JaMichael Hawkins and
Marlain Veal.
Hawkins, who tied a career high with seven 3-pointers, led all players with a season-high 24 points. Veal, a freshman from Gretna, Louisiana, contributed a career-best 17 points to go along with five assists in the win over the Cardinals.
Hammond native
Zay Jackson leads Southeastern in scoring this season with an average of 13.7 points per game and is fourth in the Southland Conference with 4.8 assists per game.
Joshua Filmore (8.8 ppg), a junior from Orlando, Florida, and Mo Greenwood (7.6 ppg), a freshman from Sharon, Mississippi, round out the Lions' top healthy scorers.
This season Southeastern is shooting 45.1 percent (436-of-967) from the floor which ranks third in the Southland. The Lions have hit 34.3 percent (121-of-353) from 3-point range, are 239-of-392 (61 percent) from the free throw line and have been out-rebounded by opponents, on average, 36.3-to-33.2 per game.
A&M-Corpus Christi is coming off a 97-76 conference win over the University of New Orleans this past Saturday, scoring a season high in points.
Rashawn Thomas, a conference player of the year candidate, is averaging 17.8 points and a conference-leading 8.4 rebounds per game to pace the Islanders. Brandon Pye (11.9 ppg) and Hameed Ali (10.3 ppg) are also scoring in double figures.
This season A&M-Corpus Christi is shooting 43.2 percent (463-of-1072) from the floor, including 35.1 percent (126-of-359) from 3-point range. The Islanders have hit 324-of-427 (75.9 percent) from the free throw line and have been out-rebounded by opponents, on average, 37.7-to-36.5 per game.
A&M-Corpus Christi has won 8-of-11 on the court against the Lions since coming into the Southland.
Southeastern returns to the court Saturday in Natchitoches, Louisiana, at in-state rival Northwestern State for another Southland Conference contest.
The Lions will take to the University Center floor, Feb. 1, against McNeese State for the annual Jam the Jungle game.
