HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana baseball team wraps up a four-game homestand Tuesday, hosting the University of Louisiana at Lafayette at 6 p.m. in a regionally televised game at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
Cox Sports Television will carry the rematch between Southeastern (30-11) and the Ragin' Cajuns (23-15). The broadcast is available nationally on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app, but only outside of the CST viewing area.
The game is being billed as Pack the Pat Night. The first 250 Southeastern students will receive free food, T-shirts and study packs. Free tailgating for Southeastern employees begins at 4:30 p.m. and a limited amount of promotional tickets are available to experience the fun of Lion Athletics. Additional employee tickets will be available for $5.
Fans can listen to the game on the radio in the Hammond area on KSLU 90.9 FM. The radio broadcast is available online and through either the KSLU or TuneIn Radio smartphone apps. Brett Hoffman (.329) lead Southeastern at the plate. Midyett's seven home runs and 36 RBIs lead the Southland Conference. Seward has scored a conference-leading 37 runs and is tied with
Ryan Byers for the team lead in stolen bases with 12.
The Lions are hitting a conference-best .302 as a team and have been successful on 63-of-87 stolen base attempts, also tops in the conference. The pitching staff has compiled a 3.71 ERA, fanning a Southland-leading 345 batters in 361 innings pitched.
Pat Cashman (3-3, 3.97) draws the starting nod for Southeastern. The Ragin' Cajuns will counter with right-hander Will Bacon (1-1, 3.76).
Blake Trahan (.370), Tyler Girouard (.344), Stefan Trosclair (.339) and Nick Thurman (.315) lead UL Lafayette at the plate. Trosclair owns a team-high nine home runs and 28 RBIs. Trahan leads the squad with 13 stolen bases.
The Ragin' Cajuns are hitting .285 as a team and have been successful on 53-of-78 stolen base attempts. The pitching staff has compiled a 3.65 ERA, fanning 294 batters in 345.2 innings pitched.
UL Lafayette took 2-of-3 in Sun Belt Conference action at Texas State this past weekend.
General admission tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 3-12). Children younger than three are admitted free with a paying adult. Southeastern students are also admitted free with their university ID card.
