HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's soccer team wraps up its 2015 regular season home schedule with a pair of Southland Conference matches this weekend.

The Lady Lions (9-4-2, 4-3-1) welcome in Central Arkansas (6-9-1, 3-4-1) to Strawberry Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday, before hosting Northwestern State (5-8-3, 2-4-2) Sunday at 1 p.m.

Friday's game will be Senior Night for Southeastern.

Kayla Vera will be honored before the match.

"We're excited to be back home to honor our seniors on Friday night and to play their last home game on Sunday together," Lady Lions head coach
Blake Hornbuckle said. "It will be a battle between two good teams, Central Arkansas and Northwestern State. There is a lot of conference play left and our goal is to obtain one of those tournament spots."

Southeastern is tied for fourth with Sam Houston State (7-6-2, 4-3-1) in the Southland standings with points after falling to league-leader Stephen F. Austin (7-6-2, 6-0-2), 2-0, on Sunday. Junior
Hope Sabadash made three saves Maxwell earned honorable mention Defensive Player of the Week honors for her effort in the match and in the Lady Lions' 0-0 tie at Sam Houston the previous Friday.

Southeastern leads the Southland with 38 assists while ranking second with 37 goals. Utreras heads the conference with 1.80 points per game and ranks in the league leaders with 10 goals, seven assists and 27 points. Juniors

Maggie Ramsey have added four goals apiece while freshmen
Sofia Olsson and
Vanessa Arzaluz each have three. Sophomore
Ana Zadro is second on the squad with six assists while Olsson has five and Rodrigues four.

Southeastern has also gotten it done on the defensive end this season with league bests of seven shutouts and 15 goals allowed. Sabadash leads the conference with a .97 goals against average and seven shutouts.

Central Arkansas comes into the match tied for fifth in the conference with 24 goals. Freshman Camille Bassett leads the Lady Bears with seven goals and 24 points. Sophomore Ashley Smith and junior Shelby Wilson have , scored four apiece and sophomore Dayna Mounie three. Smith also has a team-high four assists while Wilson and sophomore Alex Moore have three each.

UCA is fifth in the conference with a 1.32 goals against average. Sophomore Anna Hughes has appeared in 11 games with a 1.34 average while freshman Lauren Mercuri leads the SLC with a .837 and has a 1.05 GAA in eight games. Hughes earned conference keeper of the week honors two weeks ago after making 13 saves in a 1-1 tie with Stephen F. Austin.

The Lady Bears will be trying to break a four-match winless streak after losing 2-1 to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday.

Northwestern State, which plays on Friday, had a three-match unbeaten streak snapped with a 3-1 loss to Houston Baptist on Sunday.

Sunday's match could be an offensive affair as the Lady Demons lead the conference with 284 shots, 31 more than second place Southeastern. Northwestern is also third with 30 goals and 18 assists.

Senior Cassandra Briscoe received offensive player of the week consideration this week after recording three goals and an assist over the weekend, including two goals and an assist in a 4-0 win over Corpus Christi on Friday. She leads the squad with five goals and four assists. Freshmen Brittany Caserma and Kayleigh Phillips and sophomore Esdeina Gonzalez have found the net four times apiece while freshman Jacqueline Manza has three goals.

The Lady Demons have allowed 23 goals, seventh best in the league. Sophomore Alex Latham is second in the SLC with a .818 save percentage and has 63 saves to go with a 1.24 GAA. Senior Brooke Bourbanais has appeared in 12 matches with a 1.53 GAA.

"It all comes down to execution," Hornbuckle said. "Can we defend well and finish the ball? If we can do those two things, we'll put ourselves in a really good position."
