LAKE CHARLES, La. – Down to the final two series of Southland Conference action, Southeastern Louisiana travels to McNeese State looking to gain ground this weekend in three games at Cowboy Diamond.
Game times are 6 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday against the Cowboys. Southeastern (29-21, 14-10 Southland) trails McNeese (27-21, 16-8 Southland) by two games in the conference standings.

The Lions have split four games in the past week, taking two-of-three from Nicholls State in Southland play and dropping a 3-2 decision Tuesday at Tulane.
Jameson Fisher (.382)
Andrew Godbold (.337) and
Brett Hoffman (.313) lead Southeastern at the plate. Godbold's seven home runs lead the team and 46 RBIs lead the conference.
Brett Hoffman owns a team-high 15 doubles and his 30 RBIs are tied with Fisher for second-most on the ballclub.
Jacob Williams' 12 stolen bases leads the team.
The Lions are hitting .286 as team and have been successful on 73-of-115 stolen base attempts. Southeastern's pitching staff has compiled a 2.97 ERA, third-lowest in the Southland, fanning 338 batters in 439.2 innings pitched.
Sophomore right-hander
Tate Scioneaux (6-5, 3.60) earns the series opening start for the Lions, drawing sophomore righty Kaleb Fontenot (5-1 2.55) for the Cowboys. Saturday, the Lions will send junior right-hander
Andro Cutura (8-2, 1.68) to the mound against McNeese' junior righty Michael Clemens (4-2, 5.26). Sophomore right-hander Bryce Kingsley (4-3, 5.89) gains the Sunday start for the Cowboys. Southeastern has not announced a starter for the series finale.
Chayse Marion (.337), Lucas Quary (.327), Jackson Gooch (.325), Andrew Guillotte (.313) and Billy Sommers (.306) lead McNeese at the plate. Quary owns a team-high seven home runs. Marion and Gooch are tied for the team lead with 37 RBIs. Guillotte leads the squad with 13 doubles and 18 stolen bases.
The Cowboys are hitting .281 as a team and have been successful on 62-of-88 stolen base attempts. Their pitching staff has compiled a 4.69 ERA, fanning 300 batters in 445 innings worth of work.
McNeese has won its last four games, out-slugging Southern, 16-12, a week agao this past Wednesday and sweeping a three-game conference series from the University of New Orleans.
Following the three-game series in Lake Charles, Southeastern returns home to host Northwestern State, May 15-17, in the final games of the regular season.
