HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will close out its 2013-14 home schedule on Monday when it welcomes Abilene Christian for a 1 p.m. Southland Conference contest at the University Center.

Southeastern freshmen forwards
Dani Fielder and
Chey Stewart will be Monday's Spotlight Players of the Game. The first 100 fans will receive trading cards featuring the Lady Lion rookies courtesy of PRIDE.
Southeastern heads into the final week of the regular season fighting for a spot in the Southland Conference Tournament. The top eight teams in the standings will advance to the Merrill Center. ACU, which is transitioning from Division II as a new Southland member, is not eligible to make the Southland Tournament.
The Lady Lions will be looking to bounce back from a 92-79 loss to Stephen F. Austin on Saturday. Junior guard
Symone Miller led Southeastern with 19 points, followed by senior forward
Aja Gibson (13 points) and junior guard
Annessa De La Cruz (10 points). Sophomore forward
Nanna Pool posted her 12
th double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while junior guard
Elizabeth Styles dished out a season-high 10 assists.
Southeastern averages 66.7 points per game and features four players that boast double-digit scoring averages. Miller leads the team with 13.7 points per game, followed by Gibson (13.6 ppg), Pool (12.1 ppg) and Styles (10.7 ppg). Pool leads the league with a 58.3 field goal percentage, while Styles tops the Southland with 5.4 assists per contest.
Pool also sits atop the Southland with 10.5 rebounds per game and is one of two players in the league averaging a double-double. Gibson also ranks among the league leaders with 7.7 rebounds per game.
Opponents are scoring 76.9 points and committing 13.7 turnovers per contest. Gibson leads the team with 1.1 blocked shots per game, while Styles' 1.5 steals per game paces the squad.
Gibson and Styles continue to climb the school career rankings in a variety of categories. Gibson ranks among the program leaders in scoring (1,230 points, 9
th), rebounding (672 rebounds, 7
th), blocked shots (69, 7
th) and games played (115, 4
th). Styles' 300 assists are the seventh-most in school history.
Like Southeastern, Abilene Christian has four players averaging in double figures. Senior guard Renata Marquez (14.8 ppg), freshman guard Alexis Mason (12.3 ppg), sophomore guard Whitney West (11.5 ppg) and freshman forward Suzzy Dimba (11.1 ppg) are the top scorers. The top three scorers for ACU have 60-plus three-point field goals, while Dimba leads the team with 8.8 rebounds per contest. Marquez also leads the team with 3.7 assists per game.
Monday's game will be the second all-time meeting between the two new league rivals. At the 1978-79 AIAW Regional Tournament, Southeastern defeated ACU, 104-69.
