HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team returns to the University Center, Wednesday, hosting Tennessee Tech at 7 p.m. in the Lions' 2014-15 regular season home opener.
Southeastern (0-4), looking for its first win of the season, faces Tech (3-1) for the second-consecutive game. Both games are part of Tulane Tournament.

Monday, the Lions scored the contest's first bucket, maintaining the lead for close to seven minutes. A three pointer by Josiah Moore put Tech up, 13-12, at the 12:02 mark of the first half. Southeastern tied the game three times, but never regained the lead as the Golden Eagles picked up an 81-62 win at the Eblen Center in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Andrew Guillory, one of three Lions to score in double digits, scored a career-high 17 points to lead all players.
DeVonte Upson tied a career best with 16 points and
Zay Jackson, a Hammond native, added 13 for Southeastern.
Jackson (12.8 points per game), Guillory (12.0 ppg) and Upson (10.5 ppg) are the Lions' top scoring threats thus far. Jackson (3.3 assists per game) and
Joshua Filmore (1.8 apg) have split time running the point. Upson is averaging a team-best nine rebounds per contest.
The Lions are shooting 34.9 percent from the floor (82-of-235), 19.5 percent from three-point range (17-of-87), and 70.8 percent on free throws (45-of-65).
Dwan Caldwell (14.0 ppg), Charles Jackson (12.5 ppg, 11.3 rpg) and Moore (10.3 ppg) are the Golden Eagles top players. TTU is shooting 44 percent from the floor (110-of-250) this season, but just 23.9 percent (16-of-67) from three-point range. At 44.5 boards per game, the squad leads the OVC in rebounding by a wide margin.
Southeastern travels to Tulane for a pair of games, after Thanksgiving, that are also part of the tournament. The Lions face the Green Wave, Friday at 7 p.m., in a game that will be carried on ESPN3, and then wrap up their tournament appearance Sunday at 11 a.m. against Langston. Both games will be played at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans, Louisiana.
