Kelsey Salcido and sophomore
Casey Peacock scored two goals apiece to lead the Lady Lions to a 9-0 victory over Alcorn State in non-conference women's soccer action Sunday afternoon at the Southeastern Soccer Complex.
Southeastern (4-1) scored all of its goals in the first 40 minutes to earn the victory. The back line of senior

Salcido and Peacock were among seven Lady Lions who found the net for the Lady Lions. Sophomore
Kayla Vera, the 2012 Louisiana Freshman of the Year, scored a goal in her 2013 debut after missing the first four matches of the season. Allen, freshman Brianna Singh, freshman

Katie Noonan also scored goals for Southeastern.

With her two goals, Salcido ran her career goal total to 21, moving past former Lady Lion Candice Wallace for ninth place in school history. Salcido also ranks 10
th in school history with 58 career points and just outside the top 10 with 16 career assists.
"Overall, we were very pleased with today's effort," Southeastern head coach
Blake Hornbuckle said. "We did a great job of creating and finishing opportunities."
Peacock gave Southeastern the lead less than four minutes into the match. Salcido penetrated along the right side and crossed the ball to Peacock, who deposited the ball into the net from short range.
Salcido dribbled through the Alcorn State defense and scored in the 15
th minute to put Southeastern up, 2-0. Just over a half minute later, Villaescusa played a ball ahead to a streaking Peacock, who easily beat the keeper for a 3-0 lead and her fourth goal of the season.
Noonan got into the scoring act in the 17
th minute. Lasher played a ball from near midfield and a streaking Noonan ran it down and scored her third goal of the year for a 3-0 lead.
Singh finished off a pass from Salcido and her second goal of 2013 pushed the advantage to 5-0 in the 26
th minute. Three minutes later, Lasher found Rodrigues on the right flank. Rodrigues then crossed the ball to Salcido for an easy goal. The score was the Lakewood, Calif. native's team-high fifth of the season and put Southeastern up, 6-0.
Lorentz added to the lead with her first collegiate goal less than five minutes later. Simon played her a ball in front of the goal and Lorentz was able to net it from just outside of the box.
Vera, who was second on the team with six goals a season ago, ran down a pass from Utreras to give Southeastern an 8-0 lead. Less than two minutes later, Vera found a wide open Allen, who beat the keeper for her first career goal. The nine goals were the most for the Lady Lions since a 9-0 win over Grambling in 2011.
Southeastern will be back in action on Friday, traveling to Louisiana-Monroe for a 4 p.m. match.
