HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team hosts Tulane at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the University Center for its 2013 home opener. Admission is free to the general public.

Southeastern (1-2) opened the season at the FAU Invitational in Boca Raton, Fla., defeating Bethune-Cookman as well as dropping a pair of matches to Jacksonville and host Florida Atlantic.

Tiffany Thomas (2.67 kills per set), junior
Elizabeth Ramee (1.71 k/set) and freshman
Rachael Bunn (1.50 k/set) lead the Lady Lion offense which has compiled a .129 attack percentage through the season's first three matches. Setter
Mikayla Shippy has dished out an average of 7.40 assists per set.
Defensively, Southeastern has been stellar as it has limited opponents to a .133 attack percentage and leads the Southland Conference with 2.90 blocks per set. The freshman tandem of
Landry Bullock (19 total blocks) and Bunn (12 total blocks) lead the way at the net for the Lady Lions while sophomores
Morgan Todd (3.25 digs per set) and
Brooke Balser (2.70 d/set) anchor the back row.
Tulane (3-0) is coming off a sweep through its own Kathy Trosclair Memorial tournament with wins over Mississippi Valley, Rider and fellow Southland school Nicholls State.
Annie Shurtz (3.64 k/set), Tea Juric (3.00 k/set), Cori Martone (2.55 k/set) and Mel Mandelbaum (6.91 a/set) lead the Green Wave offense which has recorded a .273 attack percentage. Defensively, Tulane has held opponents to a .071 attack percentage and posted 1.73 blocks per set. Grace Weaver (4.09 d/set) and Juric (2.56 d/set) lead the defensive effort.
Southeastern opens a four-game road trip after the match, participating in the Memphis Invitational (Western Carolina, Alabama A&M, Memphis) and then traveling to Southern Miss for a mid-week contest, before returning to the University Center, Sept. 13-14, for the Tangi Tourism Lion Classic.
