NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team opens a three-game, Southland Conference series Friday at Stephen F. Austin at 6:30 p.m. as both teams enter the weekend in a four-way tie for first in the conference.
Southeastern (25-13), Sam Houston State, SFA (19-17) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi are all tied atop the Southland standings with identical 8-4 records, but each is only two games out of eighth as Central Arkansas, Lamar, McNeese State and Oral Roberts all own 6-6 records.
All three games in the series can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), on the internet through the Southeastern athletics website, as well as on the KSLU iPhone and TuneIn Radio apps. Live stats, courtesy SFA, will be available. Links to audio and stats are located on the baseball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
Last season the Lions won three-of-five games against SFA, including two of three in the regular season. Four of the five games were decided by one run, including back-to-back games in the Southland Conference Tournament, and the fifth game was a two-run decision. It will be the first matchup with the Lumberjacks since
