HAMMOND, La. – Trying to wrap up a spot in the Southland Conference Tournament, the Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team hosts in-state rival Northwestern State in a 2 p.m. conference match on homecoming Saturday.

After the match, the homecoming parade starts at 3 p.m. while the homecoming football game against Central Arkansas kicks off at 7 p.m.
Leading the Lady Lion offense is
Courtney Donald, ranked third in the conference in kills (3.82 per set) and fourth in hitting percentage (.347). The senior middle blocker owns the sixth-best career attack percentage in school history. She also ranks among the best in Southeastern history in kills (7th), attempts (7th), solo blocks (10th), block assists (7th), total blocks (8th) and points (8th).

Tamra Grayson (1.74 k/set),
Shelby Devlin (1.56 k/set) and
Becky Bekelja (9.12 assists per set) are the other top offensive weapons for the Lady Lions. Southeastern owns the third-best attack percentage (.189) in the conference.

Megan McMillin ranks fifth in the Southland with 4.09 digs per set. Lending a helping hand on defense are Bekelja (2.33 d/set),
Taylor Buckner (1.96 d/set),
Morgan Todd (1.95 d/set) and
Cherish Krohn (1.88 d/set). Donald (81 total blocks) and Devlin (68 tb) are Southeastern's top blockers.
The Lady Lions (10-14, 5-9 Southland) took a five-set decision from Stephen F. Austin Thursday to complete their first-ever regular-season sweep of the Ladyjacks.
Northwestern State's Stacey DiFrancesco (3.28 k/set) and Caiti O'Connell (3.01 k/set) are two of the top hitters in the conference, ranked fourth and eighth respectively in kills per set, while freshman Glynna Johnson has the sixth-best attack percentage (.320). Libero Keelie Arneson owns the second-best digs average (5.05 per set) in the Southland.
Southeastern is tied with Nicholls State for seventh in the Southland after Northwestern State (17-8, 9-4 Southland) dropped the Lady Colonels Thursday in a five-set decision. The top eight teams in the regular season make the conference tournament scheduled for Nov. 16-18 in Conway, Ark.
With four conference matches left, Southeastern holds a 3.5 game lead over Lamar and McNeese State while holding the tiebreaker over both schools. McNeese is at Lamar Saturday and Nicholls State hosts SFA.
Southeastern spends next week on the road with matches Thursday at Sam Houston State and Saturday at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
