BEAUMONT, Texas – Looking to earn its first Southland Conference road win of the season, the Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday when it visits East Division rival Lamar at the Montagne Center.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9) and on the internet at www.LionSports.net.
Southeastern (9-9, 3-3 Southland), which opens a two-game league road trip, looks to improve on a 3-9 record away from the University Center and has lost its last six “true” road games. The Lions are 0-3 in league contests on the road falling at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Nicholls and Central Arkansas.
In their last game, the Lions defeated visiting Northwestern State, 93-84, to remain unbeaten at home for the 12th straight game dating back to last season.
Trent Hutchin leads Southeastern in scoring at 14.8 points per game while
David Ndoumba (10.4) and
Brandon Fortenberry (10.1) are the other players in double figures.

Deshawn Patterson (6.2),
Roosevelt Johnson (5.7) and
Jason Marks (5.2) are next in scoring for the Lions, who average 70.1 points per game while allowing 68.9.
Ndoumba, second in the league in blocked shots (37), leads Southeastern with 7.3 rebounds per contest and 2.1 blocks with Patterson (3.6) and Fortenberry (3.5) leading the team in assists.
Lamar (9-11, 3-3 Southland), which returned to the East Division after two seasons in the West, has lost three of its last four games including its last two against Northwestern State and Nicholls. The Cardinals, who are 13-5 against Southeastern in Beaumont, dropped a 79-69 decision to Northwestern State last week at home before suffering a 78-71 setback at Nicholls on Saturday.
Mike James, who scored 52 points off the bench in an earlier win over Louisiana College, leads Lamar in scoring at 13.1 points per game with Kendrick Harris (12.1) and Anthony Miles (10.7) following. Brandon Davis (9.9 ppg.), Charlie Harper (9.5) and Devon Lamb (9.4) are next in scoring for the Cardinals, who average a league-high 86.4 points per game while allowing 77.5.
Lamar leads the all-time series, 20-15, and have won the last three meetings in Beaumont. Southeastern claimed last year's contest, 78-56, behind a blistering 61-percent effort from the floor, including a 10-for-19 performance from behind the 3-point line.
