CONWAY, Ark. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's soccer team scored two early goals on the way to a 3-0 Southland Conference road win over Central Arkansas Sunday afternoon at the Bill Stephens Track/Soccer Complex.
The Lady Lions improved to 8-2-1 overall and moved to 2-0 in Southland Conference play for the seventh time in school history. Southeastern scored two goals in the first nine minutes to put away the Bears (5-5-1, 1-1 Southland).

Cassie Northrup had her third shutout in goal and finished the match with two saves.
“We got off to a great start, didn't play as well in the second half, but did enough to pick up a tough road win against a good Central Arkansas team,” Southeastern head coach
Blake Hornbuckle commented. “It's always tough to win on the road in the Southland Conference, so we're very pleased with a 2-0 start.
“Shanyce, Kyle and Jennifer were outstanding in the back for us today,” Hornbuckle added. “We were also pleased with the efforts of Maiya, Kelsey and
Lauren Stillians in the midfield. Cassie also played very well in goal for us.”
Southeastern jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second minute. Dagys found Salcido, who knocked in her eighth goal of the season to give the Lady Lions the early advantage.
The Lady Lions doubled their lead just seven minutes later. MacIntosh came up from the back and headed in a goal to finish off a run with Cooper and Dagys. The Lady Lion senior's second goal of the season put Southeastern up, 2-0.
On MacIntosh's score, Dagys moved into a tie for third in school history for assists in a career (23) and a season (10). Cooper now has 26 points this season – good for 10
th-most by a Southeastern student-athlete.
Neither team could find the net until Stranges provided the final score with just over two minutes left in the match. Dagys played a ball that fell loose in front of the UCA goal and Stranges knocked it in past Bear goalkeeper Kelsey Gochnauer for her first collegiate goal to put the match away for good.
After playing eight of their first 11 matches away from home, Southeastern will return to Hammond for its next three matches. The home stand starts with a 4:30 p.m. match versus Lamar on Friday at the Southeastern Soccer Complex.
