HAMMOND – The Southeastern volleyball team heads out on a two-week road trip in search of its first Southland Conference victory this season.
The Lady Lions (4-19, 0-6 Southland) open the trip with a Thursday match at Texas-San Antonio. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Live Stats, courtesy UTSA, will be available at LionSports.net.
On Saturday, the Lady Lions will be at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for 1 p.m. match. The trip wraps up next week with matches at Nicholls State and Sam Houston State.
Southeastern returns to action after dropping home matches last week to Nicholls State and Stephen F. Austin. The Lady Lions face UTSA (12-8, 6-0 Southland) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for the first and only time during the regular season.
Courtney Donald (2.41 kills per set),
Kinsey Williams (2.2 k/set) and
Paige Dollison (2.15 k/set) are the Lady Lions top three hitters while
Lindsey Young sets up Southeastern with 7.77 assists per set.
Megan McMillin is ninth in the Southland Conference with an average of 3.51 digs per set.
UTSA enters the match having won its last six (all Southland matches) in a row.
The Roadrunners feature the reigning Southland Conference (offensive) and National Player of the Week (College Volleyball Update) in sophomore McKenzie Adams. She ranks in the top-10 for kills, hitting percentage and blocks in the conference. UTSA's Brittney Malloy was named Defensive Player of the Week as the Roadrunners swept the Southland awards for the third time this season.
UTSA leads the all-time series 18-5.
