CHOUDRANT – Southeastern Louisiana's
Cedric Scotto fired a 4-under-par 68 to finish in the lead while the Lions posted solid rounds to place second overall at the 2010 Louisiana Tech Bulldog Classic on Monday at Squire Creek Country Club.

Southeastern, ranked No. 47 in the latest GolfStat rankings, posted rounds of 296 and 292 to finish at 588 for the day – six strokes behind Ole Miss. Host Louisiana Tech and UNO were tied for third at 600 while Oklahoma rounded out the top five at 601. Rice (609), Kansas (615), Houston (617), Jacksonville State (617) and Missouri State (617) finished sixth through 10th, respectively in the 16-team event.
Scotto, the reigning Southland Conference Golfer of the Year, opened the tournament with a 1-over 73 and finished at 143 after 36 holes, two shots ahead of Tom Brown of Ole Miss.
The Lions received top-10 performances from the freshman tandem of
Alvaro Arizabaleta and
Philipp Westermann. Arizabaleta posted rounds of 71 and 75 to finish at 146 and in fourth place while Westermann fired rounds of 75 and 73 to finish at 148 and tied for ninth.
Rasmus Astrand (78-77-155) and
Horacio Leon (80-76-156) were tied for 36th and 40th respectively for the Lions while
James Taverner (82-77-159), competing as an individual, was tied for 57th.
