HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana women's soccer team will open its final week on non-conference play on Thursday, hosting Alcorn State at 4:30 p.m. at the Southeastern Soccer Complex.
The Lady Lions (4-3) are coming off a 2-0 win over Louisiana-Lafayette in their last match. In Sunday's win over the Lady Cajuns, Southeastern freshman forward
Maiya Cooper scored both Lady Lion goals and Southeastern posted its fourth shutout of the season.
Cooper leads the team in scoring with four goals and nine points. Freshman

Natalie Santana (two goals) and senior
Jenna Oney (two goals) are the other top scorers for Southeastern, which has scored 15 goals as a team through the season's first seven matches.

Nicole Brannigan have two assists each. Wallace is currently among the school's career leaders in goals (15, 9th), assists (16, 8th) and points (46, 8th).

Kyle MacIntosh has combined to hold opponents to five goals this season. Sophomore
Lacey Bockhaus has three shutouts to her credit this season and has a 0.73 goals against average.
Alcorn State (0-4) heads to Hammond in search of its first win and has been outscored 29-2 thus far this season. The Lady Braves have lost to Christian Brothers (8-1), Delta State (2-1), McNeese State (15-0) and Millsaps (4-0).
Southeastern is 2-0 all-time versus Alcorn State. The two teams last met in 2006, with the Lady Lions establishing a new school single-match scoring record in an 11-0 victory over the Lady Braves in Hammond.
The Lady Lions will close their 2009 non-conference schedule on Sunday, hosting Alabama State at 1 p.m. at the Southeastern Soccer Complex. Southeastern opens Southland Conference play on Sunday, Oct. 4, when it hosts Nicholls at 1 p.m.
