Southeastern visits Natchitoches, La. to open week three of league play and its two-match road stretch against Northwestern State Thursday at 7 p.m.

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team will return to the pitch for its lone match of the week against Northwestern State Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Lady Demon Soccer Complex.

The Lady Lions (2-4-3, 2-0-1 SLC) continue conference play against Northwestern State (6-3-3, 1-1-1 SLC) to begin their two-match road stretch. Thursday's match against the Lady Demons will be televised on ESPN+ and live stats, provided by the hosts, can be accessed on the women's soccer schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

SLU is looking to extend its winning streak after claiming a 2-2 draw against the reigning Southland Conference champion Stephen F. Austin before securing a 1-0 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Lady Lions have continued to progress early in conference play as freshman Aja Nelson and senior Emma Ramsey connected in the net against the Lumberjacks to equalize the match. Ramsey leads Southeastern with a career high three goals this season.

The Lady Lions defense has remained aggressive as it held Texas A&M-Corpus Christi scoreless and delivered their third shutout of the season. Senior midfielder Rylee Franklin recorded the game-winning goal against the Islanders off a penalty kick to close the weekend. SLU goalkeeper Kendall Curran ended week two of league play with seven saves while holding a 76.8 save percentage.

Northwestern State finished 1-1 last week with a 7-0 victory over Prairie View A&M before falling 1-0 against HCU. The Lady Demons are looking to bounce back after suffering their first conference loss of the season against the Huskies. Northwestern State is led by junior midfielder Emily Senatore with eight goals and one assist so far this season. The Oxford, Conn. native has recorded 30 shots with 15 shots on goal as Hosane Soukou follows up with five goals.

The Lady Demons stand 3-0-2 at home this season and have posted 175 shots, 26 goals and 71 shots on goal. Redshirt junior Kennedy Rist has handled the majority of the responsibility in the net for Northwestern State, claiming 39 saves and 0.75 goals against average.

Concluding Thursday's match, SLU will continue on the road to face Lamar Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. in Beaumont, Texas. The match against the Cardinals will be streamed on ESPN+.
