HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana women's soccer team will open its season-long four-match home stand this week, welcoming a pair of non-conference opponents to the Southeastern Soccer Complex.
The Lady Lions (3-2) will open this week's action on Friday, when Arkansas-Little Rock visits for a 4:30 p.m. contest. In-state foe Louisiana-Lafayette (0-6-1) makes the trek to Hammond on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match.
Southeastern will be looking to build on its impressive trip to north Louisiana last week that saw the Lady Lions post shutout wins over Grambling and Louisiana-Monroe. Freshman
Karly Dagys scored goals in both matches to fuel the Southeastern attack, while junior
Nicole Brannigan earned Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors after leading a Lady Lion backfield that allowed opponents only four shots on goal in two matches.

Dana Mayer has helped Southeastern hold opponents to three goals on the season. Sophomore
Lacey Bockhaus has played all but 16 minutes in net for the Lady Lions and heads into the weekend with a 0.62 goals against average.
UALR heads to Hammond looking to bounce back from an 8-0 loss to Ole Miss. Christina Veasley leads the Trojans with three goals on the year and is the only player with multiple goals. Danielle Dunsworth, Rachael Maina and Aubrey Tafoya have one assist apiece. Jane Picarelli has handled the majority of the goalkeeping duties for UALR and has a 2.54 goals against average.
Southeastern is 3-2-1 all-time versus Arkansas-Little Rock. Last season, UALR handed the Lady Lions a 3-0 road loss.
Louisiana-Lafayette dropped a 4-0 decision to LSU in its last outing and heads to Hammond in search of its first win of the season. Courtney Hofland leads ULL with two goals. Amanda Moorefield (1.61 GAA) and Lauren Berlingo (3.43 GAA) have split time in goal for the Lady Cajuns.
Following this weekend's action, Southeastern will close out non-conference play with a 1 p.m. match versus Alabama State next Sunday at the Southeastern Soccer Complex.
