HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team will return home on Saturday, hosting Southland Conference foe Lamar at 2 p.m. in the University Center.
Southeastern (6-11, 2-4 SLC) will be looking to snap its four-match losing streak on Saturday. Lamar (10-8, 5-2 SLC), which defeated Nicholls State in five sets on Wednesday, heads into Saturday's match having won six of its last seven matches. Southeastern is coming off a 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 loss at Sam Houston State on Wednesday night. Junior
Allison Jones led the Lady Lions with 10 kills, while senior
Lauren Mayer added nine winners. Senior
Katie Collins chipped in 15 assists, while junior
Alex Greer led the way for Southeastern with a match-high 15 digs. However, SHSU held Southeastern to a .018 hitting percentage and finished with 12.5 total blocks as a team to earn the victory.

Arianne Cruckshank tops the team and sits ninth in the Southland Conference with 7.81 assists per set, while Collins is averaging 4.88 assists per set. In matches against league opponents, Cruckshank is averaging 9.14 assists per set – good for sixth in the league.
Defensively, Greer has moved to fourth in the Southland with 3.86 digs per set, followed by Mayer (2.77), Cruckshank (2.30) and Buckner (2.12). Senior

Alexis Braghini share the team lead with 30 blocks, followed closely by Srajer's 23.
In conference play, both Greer (4.50, 2nd) and Mayer (3.52, 8th) rank among the league leaders in digs per set. Elliott is currently averaging 1.21 blocks per set in Southland Conference play, putting her in 5th place in the conference rankings.
Lamar's top attacker is Lauren Holdroff, who is averaging 2.80 kills per set. Setter Adrianne Meengs is fifth in the Southland with 8.76 assists per set. Jayme Bazille has 81 blocks and leads the Southland in blocks per set with 1.31. Bailey Smith tops the Cardinals and ranks fifth in the league with 3.77 digs per set.
Southeastern is 4-19 all-time versus Lamar. Last season, the Cardinals defeated Southeastern, 25-23, 25-20, 25-17, in Beaumont, Texas.
Following Saturday's match, Southeastern will return to the road to face Texas Arlington on Oct. 22 and Texas State on Oct. 24.
