CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Nine kills from junior right side hitter Jessica Srajer, six more from senior middle blocker LaToya Anthony and a team-high .308 hitting percentage (5-1-13) from junior middle blocker Julie Elliott were not enough on Friday night as the Southeastern Louisiana University women's volleyball team (9-15, 3-10 SLC) struggled on offense en route to a 3-0 defeat at Texas A&M Corpus Christi (4-19, 2-11 SLC) by scores of 19-25, 17-25, 15-25.
Srajer led the way early on for the Lady Lions, hitting .250 (3-1-8) in the opening frame as Southeastern stayed close with the Islanders early on. Unfortunately, for the Lady Lions, the Islanders went on a 10-6 run midway through the first set to claim a six-point lead they would not relinquish in a 25-19 first set final.
The Islanders continued its dominance in the second and third frames, going on to total a .300 team hitting percentage (40-13-90) over the three-set match.
