NEW ORLEANS, La. – Despite hitting three home runs Tuesday, the Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team fell, 8-4, against Tulane in non-conference action at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Tulane (20-18) struck for five runs in the first inning following a lengthy delay for an injured Southeastern (23-15) player.

Rhett Centanni and shortstop
Connor Cuff collided in left while pursuing a pop fly off the bat of Green Wave leadoff hitter Tye Wood. Centanni was taken to a local hospital, where he is under medical observation and in stable condition.
Before the Lions could recover, Tulane took advantage of three hit batters and a pair of errors to build its early lead.
Southeastern cut into the deficit in the third on
Alex Perry's two-run home run to left field. His team-leading 11
th of the season pulled the Lions within three, 5-2.
After the Green Wave picked up runs in the third and fourth,
Justin Williams led off the fifth for SLU with his first of two home runs in the game.
Williams led off the seventh with his second homer, giving him nine this season, as the Lions pulled back within three runs, 7-4.
A leadoff walk in the seventh led to Tulane's final run.
Green Wave starting pitcher LuisPablo Navarro (2-1) earned the win, allowing two runs in 3.0 innings pitched.
Luke Lirette (2-2) suffered the loss, allowing five runs – four earned – in 1.0 inning of work.
Williams (2-for-4) and
Dane Watts (2-for-4) turned in multiple hits for the Lions.

SLU continues its four-game road trip this weekend, heading down the Rio Grande Valley for a three-game conference series against UTRGV in Edinburg, Texas. Games at UTRGV Baseball Stadium are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. The series opener is slated for national coverage on ESPNU.
