MONROE, La. – The two-time reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team set a new school record with its 13
th consecutive win, defeating ULM, 3-0, Tuesday evening at ULM Softball Complex.
Southeastern (27-9) set the new school standard for consecutive victories, besting the previous mark of 12 set by the 2023 team. SLU, which has won every game dating back to March 5, dropped ULM to 19-17 overall.
Shelby Morris continued her torrid 2026 campaign, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored, while
Maria Detillier added two hits apiece as well for the Lions.
Cera Blanchard (10-1) earned the win in the circle, scattering four hits in four shutout innings.
Macie LaRue,
Haley Crawford and
Hallie Burns combined to hold the Warhawks hitless over the final three inning to help SLU to its 12
th shutout win of 2026.
SLU took an early lead in the top of the first inning versus ULM starter Dakota Lake. Morris led off the game with a solo home run over the centerfield fence to stake the Lions to an early 1-0 lead.
Southeastern added to its advantage in the top of the second inning, as Morris singled home
Shenita Tucker to start the scoring in the frame. Morris would later come home on an RBI single by
Chloe Magee. Magee, who celebrated her 21
st birthday Tuesday, gave SLU a 3-0 cushion.
The Warhawks loaded the bases against Blanchard in the bottom of the second inning, but the Lion ace retired Carys Platt to keep ULM down, 3-0.
ULM reliever Skylar Waggoner held SLU scoreless over the final five innings, but the Warhawks couldn't break through against Lion pitching. The Southeastern quartet forced ULM to strand nine base runners, as the Warhawks were 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
Burns shook off a walk in the seventh inning to earn her first save of the season.
Next up, Southeastern will look to continue its undefeated start to Southland Conference play, traveling to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a three-game series. The series opens with a 4 p.m. contest Friday and continues with a noon doubleheader Saturday. All three games will be televised on ESPN+.
