BATON ROUGE, La. – The two-time reigning Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team continued its road swing with a 25-18, 25-17, 26-24 loss to LSU Sunday afternoon in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Southeastern fell to 5-3 overall with Sunday's loss, while the host Tigers ran their 2025 mark to 6-2.
SLU hit .194 for the match Sunday.
Kyra McKelvey once again led the Lady Lions with 11 kills.
Alexis Logarbo added seven kills, while Abby Bailey and
India Bennett chipped in with six apiece.
Ashley Richardson led Southeastern with a match-high 25 assists.
Lexi Gonzalez led the Lady Lion defensive effort with a match-high 11 digs. Bennett and Logarbo paced SU with three blocks apiece.
Jurnee Robinson, who came in among the national leaders in points and kills, led LSU with 17 kills. The Tigers hit .350 for the match in Sunday's win.
Much like Friday's loss versus Tulane, Southeastern fell into an early two-set hole and played its best in the third set. SLU had three set points in the final stanza and were on the verge of forcing a fourth set, but the hosts closed the match on a 5-0 run to secure the sweep.
Next up for Southeastern a trip to College Station, Texas for the Texas A&M Invitational to close out the team's road swing. Thursday will see SLU face the host Aggies at 6 p.m. with SLU wrapping up the tournament with a 3 p.m. match versus Loyola Marymount Friday and a noon match Saturday versus New Hampshire. Thursday's match at Texas A&M will air on SEC Network+.
