Southeastern (38-16) built a 7-3 lead through four innings over Northwestern State (35-20) in a back-and-forth affair.

Northwestern State rallied in the eighth, batting around as they scored seven runs to take the lead.

Left-hander Corbin Talley (1-0) earned the win with 4.1 innings of shutout relief. He scattered three hits and did not walk a batter, striking out two. Nick Gisclair (2-1), the third of four Lion pitchers, suffered the loss. He faced three batters, walking a pair and giving up a two-run double.
