Southeastern Splits SLC Doubleheader at Lamar

Rubber game of series between SLU (33-11, 13-4 SLC) and Cardinals (22-18, 10-7 SLC) set for Wednesday at 2 p.m.

BEAUMONT, Texas – The reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team split a SLC doubleheader with league foe Lamar Tuesday evening at the LU Softball Complex.

Following Tuesday's twin bill, SLU ran its record to 33-11 overall and 13-4 in conference play. Lamar is now 22-18 overall and 10-7 in SLC action.

Lamar scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to rally for a 5-3 victory in the opener. Chloe Magee drove in a pair of runs in the loss for SLU. Allison Brunson (0-1) made her 2025 debut in the circle and took the loss for the Lady Lions.

Hallie Burns (11-4) threw a complete-game three-hitter in SLU's 2-1 win in the nightcap. Magee and Maddie Watson each had RBI as Southeastern evened the series with a pitcher's duel victory.

The series closes with a 2 p.m. contest Wednesday. Wednesday's series finale will air on ESPN+.
