HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team returns to Southland Conference action this weekend, traveling to Stephen F. Austin for a three-game series. Games are scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Friday, 3:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday at Jaycees Field in Nacogdoches, Texas.
 
All three games against SFA (7-10, 2-4 SLC) will be carried on ESPN+. Live stats will be available in the Lions Gameday Experience app and online at www.LionSports.net.
 
Fans can listen to Southeastern (13-3, 3-0 SLC) game broadcasts in the Hammond area on KSLU 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience and MyTuner Radio apps. The MyTuner app is compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late-model automobiles.
 
SLU is coming off a, 7-4, non-conference win Wednesday over Xavier. The Lions are hitting .305 as a team, rank 11^th nationally with 33 home runs and lead the nation with 20 double plays turned
 
The Lions are led at the plate by Dane Watts (.436, 2 HR, 12 RBI), Ryan Brome (.393, 7 HR, 16 RBI), Conner O'Neal (.343, 5 HR, 10 RBI) and TJ Salvaggio (.313, 3 HR, 15 RBI).
 
Right-hander Brennan Stuprich (4-0, 0.75) draws the starting nod for the Lions on the mound in the series opener. The redshirt senior from Kenner, Louisiana will be opposed by SFA junior left-hander Cody Templeton (2-0, 1.53).
 
Saturday's pitching matchup features junior right-hander Lakin Polk (2-0, 1.00) for SLU. The junior from Ponchatoula, Louisiana will counter Lumberjack senior left-hander Elian Balmaceda (0-2, 6.75).
 
Blake Lobell (1-0, 5.19), a junior right-hander from Holden, Louisiana, earns the start on the mound for Southeastern in the series finale. He will be opposed by junior right-hander Hayden Tronson (0-3, 4.50).
 
Josh Ibe (.356, 4 HR 18 RBI), River Curs (.326, 4 RBI) and Ben Hoshizaki (.324, 3 RBI) are the Lumberjacks' leading hitters so far this season.
 
After dropping two of three games in a conference series this past weekend at Lamar, SFA returned home to drop a midweek game, 11-2, at home to former Southland foe Abilene Christian.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern returns home to host UL Lafayette for Cole Catalano Night at 6 p.m. Wednesday. All former teammates and players of Catalano are invited to celebrate the Lion for Life in a pregame ceremony. Participants are asked to arrive 45 minutes before first pitch.
 
The annual baseball block party is also scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. Food, inflatables and tailgate games will be available beginning at 4:15 p.m.
