HAMMOND, La. – The reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team extended its win streak to four games with a pair of victories on day two of the Lion Classic Saturday at North Oak Park.
Southeastern (6-3) opened the day with a 10-0 run-rule victory over Mississippi Valley State (1-7). The SLU freshman pair of
Celia Lamkin (1-0) and
Olivia Henry combined to no-hit the Delta Devils, combining for nine strikeouts.
The no-hitter was the 11
th in school history and the first by the Lady Lions since MC Comeaux,
Leah Marshall, Alyssa Romano, KK Ladner and Heather Zumo combined to no-hit Southern on April 19, 2022.
Ariel Gomez led SLU with two hits in the win over the Delta Devils, while
Lainee Bailey drove in a pair of runs.
Brilee Broussard paced the Lady Lions with three runs scored and three stolen bases.
Southeastern rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to claim a 7-3 win over South Dakota (5-3) in the final game of the day.
Blair Walsh hit her first home run as a Lady Lion, as she and
Shenita Tucker each drove in two runs.
Shelby Morris led SLU with two runs scored.

Hallie Burns (1-2) held the Coyotes to one hit and struck out four in 4.2 innings of work to earn her first win as a Lady Lion
In Saturday's other action, UTSA (7-2) defeated South Dakota, 3-2, and shut out MVSU, 7-0.
