GAME ONE – SLU 18, Lindenwood 7 (7 innings)
SLU got the offense started in the third inning. After Coley was hit by a pitch to open up the inning, Brome launched a two-run homer with one out. It was the second of the season for the senior from Katy, Texas and second in as many games.
Lindenwood responded with three runs in the top of the fourth, taking its only lead of the day. A throwing error by Little put a runner on ahead of designated hitter Filip Sarota. His two-run shot tied the game. Two batters later first baseman Sam Grunberg staked his team to a short-lived 3-2 lead with a solo homer to left-center field.
Southeastern batted around in the fourth. O'Neal drew a leadoff walk, advancing to second base on a wild pitch.
Ben Robichaux drew a one-out walk and both runners advanced on another wild pitch. Coley plated O'Neal and Robichaux with a double down the third-base line.
Dane Watts, with the first of his two hits in the game, drove in Coley with a single to right field.
TJ Salvaggio greeted reliever Easton Rackers with a single to left-center field. Hall drove in both Watts and Salvaggio with a double to left-center. Little put SLU up, 8-3, with an RBI single to center.
Both teams canceled each other out over the next two innings, scoring a pair of runs each in their respective halves of the fifth and sixth. O'Neal's two-run blast to straight-away center field provided the SLU offense in the sixth.
Six more runs by Southeastern in the seventh finished off the game. Back-to-back homers by Hall and Little forced Lindenwood into its bullpen for the fourth time in the game. After O'Neal reached on a dropped pop-up, Walters ended the contest with the first home run of his Southeastern career.
Lakin Polk (1-0) earned the win, allowing three runs – one earned – in 4.0 innings of work. The junior from Ponchatoula, Louisiana struck out six and did not walk a batter.
Brady St. Pierre (1.0 IP) and
Larson Fabre (2.0 IP) worked the final three innings for SLU. Lindenwood starting pitcher Zach Buschschulte (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing six runs in 3.1 innings pitched.

Southeastern batted around once again in the fifth, scoring five runs. Five walks and a pair of hit batters provided the bulk of the offense in the inning. The Lions' only hit was a solo home run by Little, his second of the game.

Brady McGee's leadoff single.
