Southeastern Falls in Five to SFA on Senior Day

Morgan, Stokley, Logarbo, Bennett and Gonzalez honored before Saturday's match

HAMMOND, La. – The two-time reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team dropped a 21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 15-7 decision to league co-leader Stephen F. Austin on Senior Day Saturday in the University Center.
 
Prior to the match, SLU honored its senior class of Lily Morgan, Peyton Stokley, Alexis Logarbo, India Bennett and Lexi Gonzalez. The senior quintet helped Southeastern to two SLC regular season and two SLC Tournament championships, as well as a pair of  NCAA Tournament appearances.
 
With its second five-set loss of the week, Southeastern fell to 18-8 overall and 10-4 in SLC play. SFA improved to 18-7 overall and 13-1 in league action.
 
Ainsley Driska finished with a career-high 18 kills to lead four Lady Lions with double-digit kills. Logarbo added 15 kills, while Bennett and Kyra McKelvey added 13 kills each. Stokley tied her career-high for the second straight match with 29 assists, while Ashley Richardson added 27 assists.
 
Driska led SLU with five blocks, while Bennett and Logarbo added four blocks. Bennett's four blocks allowed her to become the fifth player in program history to reach 300 career blocks. Abby Bailey paced Southeastern with 14 digs, while Gonzalez (13) and Gracie Brown (12) joined her in double figures in that category.
 
Camryn Hill (16 kills, 21 digs) and Ilana De Assis (14 kills, 14 digs) led SFA with double-double efforts. Jayden Flynn and Zoe Gun finished with 38 and 22 assists, respectively.
 
Southeastern will close out the regular season with a pair of road matches. SLU will be in Thibodaux Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. contest at Nicholls.
