THIBODAUX, La. – The two-time reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team claimed a 25-18, 25-23, 17-25, 25-17 victory at Nicholls Tuesday.
With another Southland Conference win, Southeastern improved to a 19-8 overall record and an 11-4 record in league competition, while the host Colonels fell to 12-16 overall and 2-13 in SLC play.
India Bennett led the Lady Lions with a career-high 21 kills on Tuesday.
Kyra McKelvey also posted double-digit kills, notching 10 in Thibodaux.
Ashley Richardson and
Peyton Stokley combined for 56 assists. Richardson tied her career high of 34 assists while Stokley recorded 22 of her own.
Audrey Vielguth had a career-high 19 digs, leading the match in that category.
Lily Morgan also logged 11 digs for Southeastern.
Ainsley Driska led the team with five blocks, while SLU's kill leader Bennett had four.
Nicholls' Tamara Chavez led both teams in kills, posting 23 on the night. Isabella Padilla assisted the home team 42 times, also leading the match in that category.
The Lady Lions will stay on the road for the team's final match of the regular season in Lake Charles against McNeese Thursday. The 6:30 p.m. match will be televised on ESPN+.
