COMMERCE, Texas – The two-time reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team fell to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the quarterfinal round of the Southland Conference Championship Tournament on Friday, 25-16, 25-16, 25-17.
Southeastern closed the season with a 20-9 record, ending the year with a 12-4 record in regular-season league play.
India Bennett was the Lady Lions leader on the attack, posting eight kills in the match.
Ashley Richardson had a team-high 15 assists, while
Peyton Stokley recorded 10 digs and a team-high two service aces. Bennett was also the match's leader in blocks, notching four rejections.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi had two student-athletes with double-digit kills. Mason Tatum and Jaeda Rawls-Fletcher led the attack with 12 kills and 11 kills, respectively. Virginia Van Der Werff gathered 37 assists to lead the game. Brooklyn Jaeger paced the Islanders with 21 digs.
